How To Raise Your Vibration and Get Yourself Out Of A Funk

As a highly sensitive person and empath, my emotions can get overwhelming fast. And often, the change in moods can creep up on me.

You ever have those feels?

Over the past six or so months, I’ve mostly stayed in a place of peaceful and positive vibes. Really, I’ve been in a great place emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Everything has been absolutely fantastic.

But then recently I’ve found myself in a funk.

Total downward spiral, actually.

I didn’t want to do anything. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. And everything just felt like too much. I’ve spent weeks just sitting around my house and binge watching Netflix.

But, since I’ve spent a lifetime battling extreme highs and lows when it comes to my emotional state, I’ve learned quite a few tricks to get myself out of a funk.

So here are some of my favorite ways to raise my vibration (or rather, raise my frequency), get

Minimalism for the Highly Sensitive

It wasn't until recently that I discovered I'm a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

Ok, so I knew I was very sensitive, but I didn't know it was a thing. I had always just thought something was wrong with me.

If you're highly sensitive, too, then you know as well as I do that life can get overwhelming fast. But minimalism has been a huge help in my life in keeping down the overwhelm and allowing me to better cope with my sensitivities.

I believe, for the highly sensitive, minimalism is a must. Here's why.

What It Means To Be Highly Sensitive

Some people over-think things, but I think you over-feel things.

That's what a college friend said to me one day. The truth of it hit me hard at the time, I thought maybe I was broken or just over-reacting about everything.

I didn't realize yet what a beautiful thing it is to be sensitive.

Living as a highly sensitive person has its challenges, but it is a beautiful experience.

Are you trying to figure out of you're a HSP? Or are you just curious about what that actually means? Here are some characteristics of the highly sensitive and how they play out in my life.

Signs Your 9-5 Is Soul Crushing

Today, I want to talk to you about something that I think is really important. In fact, it's a huge part of why this blog even exists. I want to talk to you about your work situation.

A sad fact: we've all had jobs we don't like.

(If, by some chance, you haven't had a job you didn't like, please tell me your secrets!)

Now, don't get me wrong, it's natural to have a period of time where you work for a job you don't particularly love. Sometimes you just need the work and you gotta do what you gotta do.

Work is stressful, that's the very nature of it. But when does it cross the line from being just a job you dislike to being something that is considered "soul crushing?"

The Five Different Types of Self-Care

Every day it seems like more and more people are realizing (and talking about) the importance of taking time for themselves.

So, with the overabundance of information out there, I'm sure you already know and understand the importance of finding time to de-stress. I'm positive that at some point, you've come across and read several articles about practicing self-care.

Making sure you take time to relax and recharge is so important. But it's also important to have balance in your self-care routine. You need to practice the right kind of self-care.

An Introverts Guide to Self-Care

If you've been hanging around for any length of time, you've probably gathered by now that I'm an introvert.

And not a subtle introvert, I'm practically a borderline hermit.

I'm not ashamed of that. It's who I am. And even though I haven't always been confident in my skin, I've grown to see my introversion as one of my strengths.

But, it's no secret that there are some struggles that come along with being an introvert. I've found that it can be hard to find time for self-care, even though I do spend a good bit of time at home recharging.

The Benefits of Having a Do Nothing Day

I love vacations.

But doesn't everyone?

They're kinda the best thing ever. And usually the very first day I'm back at work after a vacation, I'm already daydreaming and waiting for the next one.

And that's because, if I don't plan a vacation for myself, I usually end up running myself ragged with work and chores. Every weekend or random day off gets filled up with chores and errands and being an adult.

Quick and Easy Ways to Practice Self-Care

It's really hard to find time for yourself.

Practicing self-care sometimes gets a bad rep as being selfish. So, at least for me, it ends up getting pushed to the bottom of my to-do list. Everything else comes first.

And even though I do my best to keep my days empty and slow, sometimes my schedule gets away from me.

Busy can creep up on you out of nowhere.

And on those busy days it is so difficult to put down the to-do list and do something just for me. The end of the to-do list never comes, and I end up in bed, exhausted, and well on my way to being sick.
