How To Raise Your Vibration and Get Yourself Out Of A Funk

As a highly sensitive person and empath, my emotions can get overwhelming fast. And often, the change in moods can creep up on me.

You ever have those feels?

Over the past six or so months, I’ve mostly stayed in a place of peaceful and positive vibes. Really, I’ve been in a great place emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Everything has been absolutely fantastic.

But then recently I’ve found myself in a funk.

Total downward spiral, actually.

I didn’t want to do anything. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. And everything just felt like too much. I’ve spent weeks just sitting around my house and binge watching Netflix.

But, since I’ve spent a lifetime battling extreme highs and lows when it comes to my emotional state, I’ve learned quite a few tricks to get myself out of a funk.

When to Let Go of Your Intentions

When I started finding ways to further simplify my life, I began paying attention to the moon phases.

Not for any religious or spiritual reasons, but simply because the idea of living according to monthly cycles makes sense to me. 

Sure, I could just set monthly goals.

But how awesome is it to have a constant, nightly reminder of where I'm supposed to be and what I'm supposed to be focusing on.

Seriously, I don't have to set reminders or alarms or calendar events or anything. 

There is literally a giant ball of light in the night sky that reminds me where I am in my monthly goals and life cycles.

Why I Let Go of Minimalism

I've been pursuing minimalism for quite some time now. Just about three years! 

That is probably the longest I've stuck with anything!

And it has been a wild ride! 

My journey started by getting rid of almost 75% of my possessions in what I fondly refer to as the "Great Purge of 2015. I over-hauled my wardrobe and home, and found a clear path to who I am underneath all the stuff.

Minimalism Gave Me the Life of My Dreams

When I started pursing minimalism almost three years ago, I thought I was just cleaning up my house a bit. Minimalism was just going to be a way to keep myself organized and less stressed.

But that's all that was going to change, right?

I couldn't see then what it really meant to create space in your life. And I didn't understand the beautiful possibilities that open up when you create that space.

I didn't realize minimalism was going to completely change the direction of my life.

Minimalism gave me the life of my dreams.

A Resolution for A Year of More

New Years is almost here!

I am so stinking excited. New Years is my favorite time of the year.

I love the possibilities that come with a fresh year. Getting to start over and have a new chance to create a life I'm in love with. There's just something so exciting and magical about getting a new start.

And then there's the resolutions!

Why You Need Minimalism in Your 20s

I wish I'd found minimalism sooner.

I was 26 when I first started thinking about decluttering my home and pursing a simpler life. Minimalism was a game changer and I am incredibly grateful for the way it has changed and shaped my life.

Since then, I have seen such incredible benefits of changing my lifestyle. I can only imagine how much better off I would be now if I had found minimalism in my early 20s.

There is no wrong time to start making changes in your life. It's never too late to do things differently. But looking back, there are so many benefits to embracing a simpler life earlier on.
