The Full Wolf Moon in Leo

Have you looked at the moon lately?

It doesn’t matter what phase the moon is in, I always think it’s beautiful.

The moon cycle is a reflection of the cycles that occur in our own lives. It reminds us when to work hard, when to slow down, when to celebrate. And while each phase brings it’s own themes that repeat throughout the year, each lunar cycle also brings it’s own unique outlook.

There are so many things that come together for each unique moon phase. And there is a lot we can learn and take away from that.

We begin our calendar year, and end our lunar year, with the Wolf Moon in January.

Making Big Decisions Intuitively

I was recently asked how I make big decisions. How do I know what to do when I'm faced with a choice that is terrifying and huge and potentially life changing?

What do you do when you're so confused you can barely think? When the pros and cons lists become meaningless?

How do you make the decision when it feels so massive you're absolutely paralyzed?

When this decision paralysis becomes apparent, at that point it's time to turn inward.

I have a process I use when making big decisions. I break the whole situation down and get in touch with my feelings. The whole process may take several days or weeks, or sometimes i can have things figured out in just a few hours.

There are a lot of variables, every situation and every decision is different, but the process ultimately comes down to this:

Trust your intuition. Follow your heart.

Minimalism for the Highly Sensitive

It wasn't until recently that I discovered I'm a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

Ok, so I knew I was very sensitive, but I didn't know it was a thing. I had always just thought something was wrong with me.

If you're highly sensitive, too, then you know as well as I do that life can get overwhelming fast. But minimalism has been a huge help in my life in keeping down the overwhelm and allowing me to better cope with my sensitivities.

I believe, for the highly sensitive, minimalism is a must. Here's why.

What It Means To Be Highly Sensitive

Some people over-think things, but I think you over-feel things.

That's what a college friend said to me one day. The truth of it hit me hard at the time, I thought maybe I was broken or just over-reacting about everything.

I didn't realize yet what a beautiful thing it is to be sensitive.

Living as a highly sensitive person has its challenges, but it is a beautiful experience.

Are you trying to figure out of you're a HSP? Or are you just curious about what that actually means? Here are some characteristics of the highly sensitive and how they play out in my life.

The Four Types of Emotional Clutter

When you begin pursuing minimalism, your focus is typically on getting rid of physical possessions. You focus on what you can see. But minimalism isn't just about owning less. It's about living an intentional life. Minimalism is about ridding your life of clutter. Pursuing a minimalist lifestyle is about getting rid of whatever is holding you down, and giving yourself the freedom to create the life you want. Decluttering is a big part of starting your minimalist journey. And it's an awesome confidence booster when you see a room transform before your eyes. But it's not just about stuff. Clutter can be anything, physical or emotional, that keeps you from living the life you want.
